The violin, with its powerfully penetratingvoice, is known as the Queen of Instruments. The subtly modulated tone of itsstrings arises from the precision artisanship of themaster violin maker. The inspiration for this work was the collection ofgreat violins at Chimei Museum. The representational bas relief of a violin, withits delicately graceful curves, rises on the side of the cup, its surfaceembellished with the texture of spruce wood. Violin strings comprise the cup handle, symbolizing the fluid cadence of music that plucks the strings of our hearts.
