Taiwan has been growing golden chestnuts for nearly a century. Their shells are hard, their kernels round, soft and sweet. In the spring they blossom and bear fruit, which ripens and falls to the ground in the fall. The lid handle was inspired by the stem of the chestnut. The base of the teapot is embellished with a decorative engobe, which looks a little like the ring left behind when the kernel is plucked from the nut. The teapot as a whole symbolizes good fortune in every season, sumptuousness and beauty.
