For this set of mugs, the designer took inspiration from two dog breeds: the miniature schnauzer and the toy poodle. Their graceful forms serve as the central element of the handle, leaning against the cup as it mischievously seeks attention, and melting our hearts. The auspicious Chinese phrase duoji, meaning “lots of good fortune,” sounds similar to the English word “doggy.” The shapes of the cups reflect the two breeds – one square, one round – symbolizing both solidity and fullness, and boundless prosperity.
