Chen-tau Wu is revered as the father of Taiwanese tea. After 37 years of breed improvement (1945-1981), he created the unique TTES #12 and named the tea, Jinxuan, after his grandmother to show his filial affection. This design is inspired by the serrated edge of Jinxuan, and the mug is decorated with a brush of gold to echo the name of Jinxuan (meaning golden daylily in Chinese).
